147 Million Orphans · 1 Comment · Feb 12, 2010 · Blog ·

There is an estimated 147 Million Orphans in the world today.

Staggering.

That is 147 Million children that have lost one or both parents, most uncared for, shuffled between relatives, neighbors or orphanages or simply abandoned to fend for themselves.

The problem seems overwhelming.  How can we each help?  I love this quote from Mother Teresa, “”If I look at the mass, I will never act. If I look at the one, I will.”

Will you consider your role today for the sake of just ONE?  There are MANY sponsorship programs for less than $40 a month, that I have personally seen are making a DIFFERENCE in orphans lives.  Providing food, education, shelter and discipleship.

Here is a list of a few that I KNOW are making a difference on a very personal level!  Check them out or if you would like more information, I would be happy to share all that I know – as I have seen firsthand how these ministries are helping the Orphan!

So thankful that as each sun sets and each dawn rises, the start of a new day brings hope of things NEW!

Because of the Lord's Great Love for us, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are NEW every morning, great is your faithfulness. Lam.. 3:22-23

TRAVELS · 0 Comments · Feb 1, 2010 · Blog ·

These last few years, I have been falling more and more in LOVE with the God of this world, and therefore HIS HEART!  His heart breaks and beats for the orphan and widow.  And also for this ENTIRE world….that means the thousands of countries, cultures, continents and clans that fill the world.  For it says in the bible that “God so LOVED the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever BELIEVES in him, will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) and that “God put his LOVE on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.” (Romans 5:8)   WOW!

As I have opportunities to travel around this big world; I hope to share with you glimpses of these things, these people and more of where God wants us to engage with this world.
