Two years ago March 11th, a precious little boy was born in Ethiopia that would impact my heart, along with many others, beyond our wildest dreams!
I had been to Africa once before, and so when my friend Emily approached me about traveling with their family to document the adoption of their son who we had prayed for, wished for, and hoped for during the course of many months, my heart literally jumped out of my chest! It has been by far the most special, memorable, emotional and rewarding things at that time that I had ever done or been part of.
Abey, as we affectionately call him, melted our hearts at first glance. He was smiling from the get go, taking in the big new world he was entering. Truly this little boy was meant to be an Alexander all along – a lover of people with a smile that just won’t stop! I can personally attest to the fact that the hearts of those that know him are expanded in ways we didn’t know were possible, by watching his BEAUTIFUL, contagious and joyful spirit.
So without further adieu, please meet Abenezer, his siblings and his parents along with the children from the orphanage he came from. Be prepared to fall in love!

Read More and CommentI recently traveled with a family to Ethiopia to document the adoption of a little girl named Esther Grace. Adoption is an incredible word picture of God’s great love for us. Without us doing anything to earn such love, we instantly are given a new name, new family and new identity.
Meet Esther Grace and fall in love!
